Dear Ida Freeman Families,
I am honored to introduce myself as your new principal. My name is Mrs. Susan Fulks, and I am incredibly excited to join the Ida Freeman family and work alongside students, parents, teachers, staff, and the wider community as we continue to strive for excellence.
Let me help you get to know me a little better. I grew up in Kansas and moved to Oklahoma in 2001 to play soccer for Oklahoma Christian University. While at OC I met my husband, Josh. We have been married for 19 years and have one daughter, Jules, who will be in 7th grade at Sequoyah.
In 2005, I graduated from OC with a degree in Early Childhood Education and immediately went into the classroom. I’ve taught Pre-K, 2nd and 3rd grade. In 2016, I became an Assistant Principal at Prairie Queen Elementary in Oklahoma City. After that, I moved to Tinker Elementary in Midwest City before landing an Assistant Principal position with Edmond Public Schools. I’ve had the pleasure of working at Heritage and Charles Haskell under phenomenal leadership.
As an educator with 18 years of experience, I am deeply committed to fostering an environment that promotes academic achievement, character development, and personal growth. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and it is our collective responsibility to provide them with the necessary support, resources, and opportunities to thrive.
As we begin this new chapter together, I am eager to partner with each of you to build upon the traditions and experiences that define our school. I invite you to join me in strengthening the culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and lifelong learning, where we inspire one another to dream big, work hard, and make a positive difference in the world.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to create a bright and promising future for our students.
Warm regards,
Susan Fulks, Principal
